2013 College Tour
On November 13, 2013, 92 Maverick sophomores and juniors embarked on what has become an annual college tour. Over the course of three days, they visited Florida Gulf Coast University, the University of South Florida, the University of Florida, Florida State University, the University of North Florida and the University of Central Florida. Along the way, the students were able to meet with Maverick alumni and get a first-hand perspective on life after Archbishop McCarthy which, Mr. Marshall Ho, chaperone and videographer of the trip, chronicled with interviews. It was an invaluable experience for all.
2013 Homecoming Game and Alumni BBQ
Archbishop McCarthy hosted the Coconut Creek Jaguars at the homecoming game on Friday, October 18, 2013. We had the opportunity to carry on the tradition of celebrating the game with alumni at the annual alumni barbeque. Representing several graduating classes, those in attendance not only got to cheer on the football team, but were also given a tour of the school, which has significantly changed for some in the years since graduation.
Class of 2003 Ten Year Reunion
On Saturday, June 8, 2013, members of Archbishop McCarthy's second graduating class, the class of 2003, gathered at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino to celebrate their 10 year reunion. Catching up with old friends, the class of 2003 got to travel down memory lane with a video of their time as students. For one special alumnus, Marine Jorge Silva, being stationed in Afghanistan did not prevent him from joining in on the festivites, thanks to Mr. Marshall Ho who set up a special Skype session for him.
